So now we're all back at home. This was a great vacation and doing the blog with the Sistas was so much fun! I would like to add my Best Of Vacation List:
Most Delicious Moment: Eating that cake with the cream cheese chocolate frosting that Phyllis made. Washed down with a glass of white wine, it was the perfect end to a day of hiking.
Biggest Disappointments: The "scenic byway" to Taos. It's definitely a trick that people play on the tourists. And the other disappointment was that when Gina wore the black swimsuit, the top did not fill up with air and give her gigantic air boobs. I was hoping to capture a picture of that for the blog.
Biggest Surprise: Nobody got a sunburn!
Second Biggest Surprise: Nobody got struck by lightning when we all went to Mass!
Most Fun Car Ride: That first night when we all squished into the truck for the trip from Mark and Phyllis' to the casita. Woo-hoo, no seat belts!
BEST HOSTS EVER: Mark and Phyllis - there is just not enough space to thank you enough for everything you did to make our vacation so much fun. The driving, the cooking, the great information about all the sights and just the fun company you provided was so wonderful. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
BEST SISTERS: All my vacation sisters! Let's do this again next year...start saving your pennies and practicing your blogging skills now! Love and kisses to all!

I'LL TRYto be brief!!!
The drive to Taos was beautiful and Jeralyn was great on the hairpin turns...I didn't know tires could make those kind of noises. WE got to enjoy the view while Jeralyn watched the road.... at least she said she was watching !!!! A great day was had by all ( shopping in the square, eating , just enjoying the atmosphere and the friendliness of all we met.). Back in Santa Fe we found Mark and Phyllis' house ( could we possibly be acclimating????) where we enjoyed pizza, wine ,and company of great friends!! The night sky with stars shining(it's really, really dark out there) is absolutey awesome. In the morning it was Albuquerque Airport (good-bye sniff-sniff to Cate) and then Old Town . ANOTHER Church ( The Spainish King required a Church in all settlements) . Church of San Felipe De Neri built in 1706 to honor King Philip. There is also a Convent so all of you needing a retreat take note!!!! I would post a picture BUT I CAN'T GET THEM DOWNLOADED!!! Will share later...bet you can't wait. ALLLLLLL right .... Coach outlet... a frenzy was had by all but when the dust settled, only Phyllis and Mary Ann had made a purchase. Back to the casita for our last evening. Dinner at Pronzo ( eeeekkkk!! We ate Italian in Santa Fe???? ) It was wonderful as was the window shopping on the way and the walk home where we had our last hot tub soak. Good-bye hot tub, I'll miss you!
Road trip to Taos
Hi! It's me again! Sistuh Jeralyn here! Wow! What a wonderful week we have had! Here's our test run on the car to see if it's really fixed. We took the so called scenic route to Taos which to us was nothing more than the longer way to go. Lots and I mean lots of hairpin turns. I guess that's the scenic part. Taos was another day of sensory overload with the spectacular art galleries, which of course are my favorite places to be, along with shopping. We took the supposed non-scenic route back to Santa Fe which was abosolutely beautiful! We dined at Mark and Phyllis' home on their stunning patio, viewing a lightening storm over the mountains while we dined on pizza and Phyllis' fantastic salad. And of course I almost forgot, the wine.
REWIND
O.K.... we've been a little slack about keeping up with our blog......BUT this vacation is so packed we come home exhausted....we even skipped the hot tub a couple of nights!!!!! Santa Fe is one of the top 3 cities in U.S. for art galleries. Canyon Road is THE place to explore art in Santa Fe. We were unable to see it all .....guess we will have to come back...YIPPEEEE!! Here are a few of my favorites.

Hissyfit 911!
Since everyone is asking how 5 women can possibly get along on this Girlyvacation, the answer is...see the photo. Our treatment plan worked perfectly until last night when one of our party went back to the casita early and couldn't get the #$%& door unlocked. She yelled at it (she says only twice). Neighbors called 911 to report a woman "screaming" and the rest of us arrived just as the patrol cars pulled up with lights flashing. Moral of the story: stay calm and take your #$%& meds as directed. We're not about blame here so you'll have to guess who caused all the commotion. I'll just say that I took MY medication.

Dessert and More Dessert
After all that hiking, Phyllis rebalanced our eloctrolytes in the form of homemade cookies, cake and white wine. We NEVER eat sugar or drink wine during the day but we didn't want to appear rude so we ate a lot at her home and then brought the rest back to our casita. Dinner followed at Harry's Roadhouse. A good time (and more dessert) was had by all. I personally recommend the Red Chili Meringue Chocolate Mousse pie. Followed by something chocolate.
Darn I missed the hiking!
While Mark was suffering from estrogen overload hiking with the sistuhs, I ate drank and shopped my way through the Plaza. While they drank water, I drank adult libations. While they climbed tall ladders, I sauntered through fabulous boutiques. While they ate crappy snackbar food, I ate fine Santa Fe cuisine. What a great day...for me!
Save Mark!
After another round of hiking (Bandolier National Monument) we stopped for a snack with our wonderful friend and unofficial tour guide, Mark. After listening to our inane commentary, carrying the water bottles and keeping us off the edge of the cliffs (because it's hard for the Hillsisters to talk and watch where they're going at the same time) Mark definitely needed a break. Check out his expression - does Mark look tired of us yet? The saddest part - Mark has 4 more days of Girlyvacation. Maybe we should start a Save Mark from the Girlyvacation Fund. Send your contributions to one of the sisters, and we will be sure to pass it along!
Iron Women
Bandelier: We wore our hats (no NOT those red hats old ladies wear), our sunscreen and then flexed our mighty muscles to climb all over Tsankawi (Google it yourselves). We walked in the footsteps of some extremely tiny ancient people. How tiny? Joan would be an XXL in their society. Views were indescribable - just look at the pictures. The hike was a challenge and after viewing our pictures, Mary Ann was damn glad she went shopping instead.

While Her Vacation Sisters Suffered, Cate...
I was thoroughly enjoying the view from Mark and Phyllis' patio and having a large glass of wine. I did wonder why they were taking so long to arrive and meet me. When we got the call about thier unfortunate plight, I thought poor dears! If only I could give them a glass of cold white wine! I shall pray for them. I shall pray they arrive before all the wine is gone.
Thank God For AAA and Mark!
AAA gets paid to pick up stranded cars but our friend Mark voluntarily drove out to pick up 4 hot (not the good kind of hot, the sweaty kind), irritated women and their 500 pounds of luggage. We (Mark, that is) waited with great patience and composure for the tow truck. We got rather thirsty. For a cold drink. With alcohol.

The night before the last day before vacation!!!! OMG!!! I'm soooo looking forward to this trip you would think I've never been out of Kansas!!! I guess it"s the company that makes this trip so exciting!! Or maybe the hot tub, or the sleeping in, or the not working, or bloody mary's, margaritas, beer, Or the hot tub..........

PENALTY FOR DROPPING OUT!!!!!
I think an appropriate penalty for dumping the "Sister Trip" should include: 1. Doing our dirty laundry when we arrive home. 2. Washing the car post trip. 3. Completing a "Sister DO" list while we are away. HMMMMMM any other suggestions????? DO NOT HOLD BACK!!!!
too late for new hot tub suit
O.K. ... in my anxiety about buying a swimsuit I waited TOOO long to order on-line for delivery prior to departure!!!!! So, it"s either shorts and a t shirt OR a dressing room in the dedpartment store EEEEEEKKKKKKK!!!!

The Beginning - Pre Trip planning
So, wanting to document the upcoming Sisters Vacation. Technically, we're not all sisters but whatever. We are meeting in Santa Fe where our gracious and long suffering friends Mark and Phyllis live. I am wondering, should we set up some rules before we all converge? What should they be?
